Mission and strategy

Our aim is to combat copyright infringements and unauthorised use of another’s intellectual property. We are creating antiplagiarism network that extends nationwide aiming protection of the work of Polish researchers and students. We cooperate with universities, government instututions and publishing houses. We also support private individuals hoping to prevent their intellectual property from plagiarism.

  • 2002 
    In response to the common problem of using the “copy- paste” method by students in their theses and dissertations an Internet Antiplagiarism System Plagiat.pl is created. In the first year of its existence it was widely accessible for free. The popularity of the System among academic staff and teachers showed the importance of this type of enterprise in academic spheres and the need for its further development
  • 2003 
    Plagiat.pl began its cooperation with the first academic institution – University of Lublin. The University became the first in Poland to introduce obligatory verification for all master and bachelor thesis papers before students were allowed to defend them in the Final Exam. In June of the same year fees for paper verification (SMS service) were introduced.
  • 2005 
    In May 2005 Plagiat.pl, the company with full ownership rights and responsible for the development of the System changed its legal form into a Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością (a limited liability company according to the Polish law). Dr Sebastian Kawczyński, the spiritus movens of the undertaking, who has been responsible for the development of the System since 2003, was nominated President of the Board. Thanks to his commitment the System has gained national status and the problem of plagiarism has been put on agenda in academic circles.
  • 2007 
    Due to interest received from students, the company launched a service for individual users
  • 2011 
    in response to the growing demand, the company launched a service of Antipiracy Monitoring
  • 2012 
    first implementation of the Academic System for Archiving Papers at a university
  • 2014 
    As of November 2014 the Internet Antiplagiarism system Plagiat.pl is used at over 180 Polish universities and institutions in Germany, Colombia and Romania.
  • 2015
          Plagiat.pl is used at over 200 Polish universities and institutions all over the world. First contracts in Kazachstan, Azerbaijan and Moldova
  • 2016

          Plagiat.pl is used at over 250 Polish universities and institutions all over the world. First contracts in Ukraine.
