Fighting Against Plagiarism Has Become Easier

Plagiat.pl’s antiplagiarism system has recently been integrated with the Moodle platform, which is the most widely used learning platform in the world and is built using free and open software. Consequently, it is easier for schools, universities, and institutions using this accessible and popular learning platform to also use the longest-functioning Polish system for verifying the authenticity of texts.

The Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) is used by over in universities, schools, companies, and for individual use. The popularity of Moodle arises from the fact that this eLearning platform is not only free, but it is also consistently being upgraded with new features to add to its already extensive list of functionalities. That’s why it has attracted many users in Poland.

Now, thanks to this integration, users of the Moodle platform will be able to verify texts with an antiplagiarism analysis without having to log into the Plagiat.pl website itself. Users simply need to install the Plagiat.pl plugin, which is available for all Moodle users, to access the full functionality of Plagiat.pl’s tool directly within the Moodle platform.

Plagiat.pl has also established a partnership with eThink Education, a U.S. based company that provides a comprehensive eLearning solution, including hosting, integrations, consultation, and management services for the open-source Learning Management Systems Moodle and Totara. eThink Education, like Plagiat.pl, works with many universities, high schools, and public institutions. eThink also has extensive experience working in the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors, as well as higher education. This expertise allows them to effectively implement, manage, and customize the Learning Management System to meet specific customer needs in any industry.

“We are excited to add Plagiat.pl’s plagiarism detection solution to the suite of partner tools we currently offer our clients,” said Brian Carlson, CEO & Co-Founder of eThink Education. “Our company is dedicated to providing our clients with the best tools in the market to help them meet their specific educational needs. Verifying originality through antiplagiarism software allows colleges, academics, and others to ensure the integrity of creative works.”

Through this partnership and integration, users of the open-source Moodle platform – as well as eThink clients – have access to the same functions and capabilities as users logged directly into the Plagiat.pl’s system, including:

  • Checking documents on a regular basis, within a maximum of 24 hours;
  • Ability to verify files in various extensions (including .doc, .ppt and .pdf);
  • Check against online resources and shared documents databases;
  • Receiving a Similarity report that clearly shows the borrowed fragments and reveals the place of borrowing.

“The integration of our system with Moodle and a partnership with eThink Education are the next steps in facilitating and popularizing the use of antiplagiarism software. The verification of the originality of texts promotes the independence of creative work. One of our goals is to make this process easier and less formal,” said Ali Tahmazov, Executive Director for International Market in Plagiat.pl. “We are approaching the remarkable milestone of 6 million documents checked by our system for the occurrence of plagiarism. This partnership with one of the biggest global suppliers of eLearning software will allow us to share our antiplagiarism software with Moodle users across the globe to accelerate this movement,” Tahmazov continued.
